Until today, I haven't been able to watch videos on the internet for more than 5 minutes or so -- they just haven't been able to hold my attention long enough for me to sit through them - even things I would normally watch on TV.
I was able to sit through this 1 hour and 15 minute video of Randy Pausch giving a "Last Lecture" at Carnegie Mellon University:
It was worth every minute, and I recommend that you do the same if you haven't seen it already.
It struck a chord with a lot of the things I've been thinking about and some of the themes we've been discussing in posts and comments on this blog the past several months. He has an ability to put concepts into words that I can't match though.
Don't just watch it though. Do something about it.

This is an amazing coincidence. :) I watched the video a few months ago (shortly after he did the lecture) and thought it was amazing. Definitely a perspective changing lecture.
I just got home, fired up Safari and saw your post here. I had just gotten home from Barnes and Nobles, where I picked up a printed copy of Randy Pausch's Last Lecture. :)

Not to put a downer on this if you've just discovered the video, but Randy passed away just yesterday. It was three months past the time the doctors gave him.
The book is an amazing insight into what led up to the lecture and things that have happened since.

@Adrian - Thanks for the link to get the rest of the story. His passing is what prompted me to post it. I didn't have the time to watch the video on Friday when I came across it, and I had no idea it would be so good, so once I started it I had to finish on Saturday.
@Glitch - You'll need to let me borrow that book when you're done with it. =)

Couldn't agree more. I'd never heard of the guy until a buddy tweeted his death notice. I listened to his interview with Diane Sawyer and some (though not all, yet) of the _Last Lecture_ and was very impressed with what I saw.

I saw him on Oprah (yes, Oprah, my wife made me watch the interview) and have since watched both his Last Lecture video and the Time Management lecture that is online as well. The world has truly lost a great teacher.
From the Time Management lecture, I like how visitors to his office only get a folding chair to sit on, and one that the front legs are shorter than the back, so they don't get comfortable sitting around and taking up his time when he is trying to work.
